A slightly old post which I really wanted this blog to have

Eventually the time to leave Sydney has come. It wasn’t easy, people have been saying to me “Just stay! And start your life here.” So many things are keeping myself away from that thought! I’ve been living by myself for ages now, but I can’t still accept to be too far away from my roots. Is it so wrong? I’m trying to keep up with my life every single day, to be straight and in the position. Always ready, always prepared. To have all my things settled up in space, but a times isn’t a easy thing. Like trying to keep a blog and being faithful to it ( I’m pretty sure I still have to write the second part of the trip in New Zealand!), but being close home and have the possibility to hear my parents giving advices to me, makes an enormous difference and I’m not ready to give up to this and perhaps I’ll be never.  Eventually, as I was stating before, my time has come to an end and the only thing I can think of are the beautiful people I’m leaving behind. I made so many friends and I think t

With August coming to an end, Australian winter is following, coming soon to an end; it wasn't actually as I imagine, I've thought Australia was never getting any cold, but I was wrong as most of the things. 😂 It doesn't get cold, but like for example t he weather has been great and the only thing I had to complain for were the cold winds coming from the Ocean which were incredibly strong and intense. I'd say that Australia  winter ❄️ reminds a little bit of English summer, just sunnier. 🤤 No longer ago I've turned 26 and for my bday, we organised a little trip to the Royal National Park, just a hour south from Sydney the park is gorgeous, full of nature, such a nice break from the city. And the weather played a wonderful role in it. (that's why a was so keen to talk about it at the beginning of the post). It felt so good to drive through the roads of the Royal National Park which impeccably gorgeous and well kept.  We stayed in this little village calle

Case scenario and little update

Hi there! That's me again.  I'm writing black on white ( or in this case viceversa ) a new challenge for the coming weeks! I had really to write this! I've eventually committed to the gym, it is such a good news isn't it ? After years of non-habits and (very, very) random running around the canals in London. I'm regularly going and enjoying myself, I've also started some interesting Yoga classes and everything feels so good. It is not just about getting rid of some extra pounds, it's more the commitment itself, the fact that in the end, you are giving your body a schedule and your body follows up with it without problems or feeling weak every morning you wake up. It's about the balance and if you find balance in the little things such going to the gym, I'm pretty sure soon you will find everywhere.  Now, second important part of this post. I've recently come to the realisation that I'm not happy at all about my portfolio and that

Eventually last day

We've been ignoring the coming "Last day", our adventure in Bali was coming to an end, and the idea of leaving was the saddest story ever. During my researches I've found this place called the Hidden Secret Canyon just a few kilometres away from Denpasar. It was one of the best experience I've ever done. We drove for about 40 minutes to get there and once there we pay the ticket that was 15,000rp, at the entrance we've got asked to get a guide as well for 100,000rp because the way was quite tedious and dangerous, so we did. I couldn't expect anything like this. We went down with our guide, called Wayan, we enjoyed his company a lot and after a while he told us he liked us, that we were "a really nice couple". He explained me how he learnt english just through guiding people down there. He had several time to stop and help us through the path, in some point the water arrives until your chest and if you don't know where to put your feet you

Day 10 - Lucky day

Raining. The whole night and morning. All my plans were pretty much ruined. The idea was in the morning to go to Kuta beach in the afternoon at the fabric market in Jl. Sulawesi, the Kuta Art Market and to end our day at Tanah Lot temple to see the sunset ! We decided to invert all the programmes and go first to the fabrics market in Jl. Sulawesi, it was still raining when we've got there. I had a clear idea of what I was after. At the B&B in Padang bay there was at the bottom of the bed this beautiful, very colourful and full of pattern and quite heavy as well. So I asked the B&B where they got them from and they told me in Denpasar; so you can imagine myself, going shop by shop with a picture on my phone. Eventually someone recognised the pattern and took me to the other side of the road, to another market, she told me she was taking me to "her sister" and that she would give me a "really good price". Okay, trusted! I followed her up to some sta

Day 9 - Down to the City

On Sunday I set my alarm quiete early, I really wanted to don't waste the hotel. We had a dinner prepared by the staff of the B&B eggs on toast, banana pancakes, juice and coffee. We left our backpacks at the receptions and went off to discover Lagoon beach and White Sand Beach. Both of them were incredible.  Now, Padang Bay it's where ferries to Gili Island and some other Islands arrives and departs, the village itself is beautiful as most of the villages in Bali, but the beach of the bay  is very dirty and is a shame how bad is kept.  As soon as you get out from Padang Bay you can find incredible beaches. Which are full of Warung that do food on the beach.  After we checked out both of the beaches we decided to stay in White Sand Beach having our last beautiful lazy morning in the area.  In the early afternoon after a few jumps in the water we came back to B&B to collect our belongings and wait for our taxi driver.  You see, Balinese people are so kind he

Day 6 to 8, the more relax I get the less I write 😏

Our friends rented a beautiful villa in Amed and the morning we woke up early just to have a last walk in Ubud before our driver Johan would come to get us. Something that I REALLY  have to mention to you is the Art Market in Ubud, which is absolutely spectacular. You can find anything there and if you can bargain you can get good prices as well without bankrupt the people from there. They will always try to get the highest price for you. Just be clever and think about what you can spend there, but think about them as well. Ubud it was incredible, one of the best places I've ever been at. Made and Putuh made it spectacular, with their warm welcoming and Putuh amazing breakfasts it was really hard and sad to leave.  When Johan arrived we said goodbye to each other with the promise to meet again and spend some more time with them, they stayed in the garden hugged one to the each other until when we left and lost sight of them! I'm sure I will come back it's a pro

Day 4 - 5 / Believe it or not! Uber!

The more the holiday goes the harder is to keep track of the posts! Our flatmate Alex and us met in Ubud on Tuesday night. We ate at a wonderful place called Bebek Bengil were their speciality is the duck. The dinner was gorgeous and we enjoyed talking about our mutual adventures in Bali. For the next day we decided to organise a trip to go up the north and see Pura Ulun Danu Beratan which is a temple located on the lake Danau Beratan and the Sekumpul Waterfall.  So, now, getting Uber here is not impossible, but you have to be very cleaver with who you are calling. People are scared to show they work for Uber, because the other taxi drivers they can have repercussions on them; we ordered a cab the next morning and as soon the taxi driver arrived we agreed to turn off the Uber GPS and having him taking us around at an hourly pay.   Deal was done. In the car we started bombing him with questions about the Indonesian culture and religion and he was so patient and clear with us,

Day 1 I used to roll my eyes when kids sat next to me

How filled was this day! So many emotions in such a short frame of time! We left Sydney evening, to the airport once aboard my first thought was hoping not to have a mum with her yelling and crying kid next to me.  I had this negative thoughts just because our flight to Melbourne it was filled with crying and yelling kids and it was so hard to get some sleep. What happened next completely changed my mind and point of view. Sue and Milly her 9 months old daughter sat right next to me. As soon as she did she probably noticed my expression ( which wasn't intentional at all) and she asked me sorry in such sweet way that has made me feel like an horrible monster without soul. In this way I shared my time with them two cuddling the babe when her mom Sue needed to pick something from her bag and talking to her mum who drove me through an Australia I did not expect to be so cold and terrible.  She asked me questions about my own country, Italy and then she gave me certain shocking hi

Day 3 - A beautiful thing here and there

We woke up in the middle of a persistent rain! It wasn't going to stop at all. So what to do? Either adapt to the Ubud lifestyle and just get some rain clocks or be the whole day in our lovely spot waiting for it to finish! We decided to go for the first option. You see the good thing here is that people are always ready to help you they are desperate for work and fulfil any request you may have.  I asked Made , our host, if he had some rain clocks and he told me to wait 20 mins, after some time his son came back with two of them and we were ready to go !  First stop Tegalalag rice terraces , which are located about 20 mins by scooter from Ubud, the drove was really enjoyable, you drive through different villages and you see people waving and greeting you. Is just so unreal how people are nice. As soon as we arrived at the place, a spectacular view was in front of us.  We start descending down the path and realising how beautifully are designed the terraces a
